Use Zoom IQ to Make Your Meetings Smarter, Faster, and More Productive
The time is ten past tomorrow, and I just finished reading a few articles about Zoom and their groundbreaking new product release called Zoom IQ.
Imagine having a super-smart AI assistant that can handle all the mundane and tedious tasks for you during and after your meetings. Such as taking notes, summarizing key points, drafting content, creating agendas, and more.
Sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, doesn't it? Well, it's not. It's real. And it's here.
Zoom IQ is a new product from Zoom that uses AI to make your meetings more efficient, effective, and enjoyable. It can help you and your team collaborate better, communicate clearer, and create faster.
Here are the top 5 features of Zoom IQ that I think will astound you and transform your meetings for good.
- Real-time meeting summaries.
- Content drafting
- Platform respect
- Whiteboard sessions
- Collaboration with OpenAI
Real-time meeting summaries
This is my favorite feature of Zoom IQ. It's simple but powerful. Zoom IQ can give you a recap of what happened in your meeting in seconds, without you having to lift a finger. It can capture the key points, action items, and next steps from your meeting and post them to Zoom Team Chat or your preferred platform. This way, you can stay focused on the conversation and follow up with your team later.
No more wasting time taking notes or watching recordings. No more forgetting important details or losing track of tasks. Just let Zoom IQ do the work for you and enjoy the benefits.
Content drafting
Writing content can be time-consuming and tedious, especially if you have to do it for multiple platforms and audiences. Zoom IQ claims it can make it easier for you by drafting content for chats, emails, and whiteboard sessions based on what it has heard and transcribed from your meeting. This is seriously advanced stuff!
For example, if you type “send an email to our clients about our new feature we just discussed in that meeting”, Zoom IQ will write a draft email that you can edit and send. Or if you ask it to “create a slide deck for our pitch based on the chat in this morning’s meeting”, Zoom IQ will create a slide deck with an outline and some suggestions for visuals. (Of course, these are just demos and you should always test these tools yourself to see how well they work in practice.)
Did you note that last task for Jane, Zoomy?
Platform respect
I like that Zoom IQ respects the psychology of what people are doing when they’re on different platforms. It knows that people have different mindsets and expectations when they’re on Facebook versus Pinterest versus LinkedIn versus TikTok . And it adjusts its content and tone that it drafts for you accordingly. For example, if you want to post something on Facebook about your new product
Whiteboard sessions
Sometimes you need to visualize your ideas and brainstorm with your team. Zoom IQ can help you with that too. It can generate a whiteboard session based on text prompts that you give it, combined with content the AI deducts from listening to your meeting discussion. For example, if you type “SWOT analysis for our new product”, Zoom IQ will create a whiteboard with four quadrants labelled Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. You can then fill in the details with your team and share the whiteboard with anyone who needs to see it.
Collaboration with OpenAI
One of the most impressive things about Zoom IQ is that it uses AI models from Zoom, OpenAI, and customers’ own models. This means that you can customize Zoom IQ to fit your specific needs and scenarios. For example, if you have a proprietary model that analyzes customer sentiment or predicts sales trends, you can integrate it with Zoom IQ and use it in your meetings. This is probably unlikely for most businesses, but it's good to know that it's possible. For most of us who don’t have proprietary data models, we can use OpenAI’s powerful language models out of the box.

I see these roll-outs from Zoom as an incredible opportunity right in front of us to level-up our business team meetings with the power of AI.
As I always say, the time is now to embrace AI tools like Zoom IQ that are revolutionizing the way we collaborate and work together.
