MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Mark Laurence is the founder and CEO of Ten Past Tomorrow, one of New Zealand's leading AI consultancy and education businesses. He's spent the last four years helping senior leadership teams across New Zealand build practical AI capability, working with organisations from SMEs through to universities, government departments and industry bodies. He speaks at the NZ Economic Forum, has been featured in the NZ Herald, and interviewed on Radio NZ.

He's a trained futurist from the Institute for the Future (Silicon Valley), and has worked with senior leadership teams from over a hundred New Zealand organisations, as well as three of our universities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is it priced per team and not per person?

Because AI adoption is a team sport. The whole point is that your senior leadership team builds shared AI skills, literacy, and strategic understanding together. When one person learns AI in isolation, it doesn't change anything at the organisational level. When your whole SLT goes through it together, that's when the real shift happens. The team pricing makes it easy to bring everyone along.

How many people can we include?

The short answer is "your entire senior leadership team". Most teams are between 3 and 8 people, but we accept teams up to around 12. The price is the same regardless. (Please just make sure that you choose leaders who are senior enough to engage responsibly with conversations about the possible evolution of your people, processes, operations and strategy.)

What if someone on our team misses a live session?

All live sessions are recorded and available in our learning platform within 2 hours of the session finishing. That said, the live sessions are where the best conversations and learning happen, so attendance is strongly encouraged. (The self-directed lessons don't have a fixed schedule within each week, so people can fit them around their commitments.)

How much time does it take per week?

About two hours of self-directed learning plus 1.5 hours for the live session on Friday morning. Projects take 10-20 minutes each. So roughly 4-5 hours per week in total. It's designed to fit alongside a full workload.

Do we need any technical background?

No. The course starts from fundamentals and builds up. We have complete beginners and experienced AI users in the same cohort, and both get value. The course meets you where you are.

What AI tools do we need?

Access to a paid subscription of at least one of the frontier tools (eg ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini or Claude). No special software or technical setup required.
